ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

DeLores Pressley is the founder and owner of Dimensions Plus, a model agency and image consultant firm for plus-size females. She has been an expert voice in the field of modeling and beauty for more than fifteen years. She has trained hundreds of women who have achieved successful careers in modeling.

In an effort to bring national attention to the mission of Dimensions Plus - the promotion of plus size females - DeLores produced the first Plus USA Woman Beauty Pageant in 1984. As national awareness of the plus-size female soared, so did the popularity of the Plus USA Woman Pageant. In 1991, Pressley hosted the first National Plus USA Woman Pageant and Convention in Washington, DC. As a result, thousands of women have acquired a healthy confidence and identity, and others have launched successful modeling careers.

DeLores Pressley has achieved celebrity on the local and national level as a pioneer of plus-size women. She has graced the pages of Glamour, Marie Claire, Essence, Belle, Big Beautiful New, the Chicago Sun Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Cleveland Plain Dealer and the Washington Post. Most recently, DeLores authored an article about being plus-sized and having a positive body image in Upscale magazine (April 1999). Her client list includes several of the finest fashion houses and department stores in the country: Saks Fifty Avenue, Nordstrom, Dillard's, Kaufmann's, J.C. Penney and Elisabeth by Liz Claiborne.

DeLores is an experienced motivational speaker on the topics of personal development, modeling and fashion consultation. She has been recognized by many organizations and has received awards from the following: Top Twenty Business Owners by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and Key Bank Corporation, Outstanding Community Service Award from the University of Akron (where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree), Successful Business Women and the Leadership Award from the Women's Leadership Caucus and Successful Entrepreneur from the Madelyne Blunt Foundation.
